In April Modera (news, site) released a new version of its web content management system. To go along with that new version the company also provided an update on the next generation of its software development platform Modera.net. Let's take a look at what we can expect.

 With the IMS 2009 conference coming up very soon, we have news that UK based content management provider Modera will be not just exhibiting, but will be speaking.

CMSWire talked with Modera's CEO Siim Vips in July, looking for their secret sauce for what they called work on the "next generation web cms". Hard at work on ModeraNet2, their next generation platform, Vips talked about things like syndication and communication enhancements, and tight integration with business processes.

On December 3 at 2pm GMT+1, Vips will present "Past, current and future content management technologies". Along with talking about Modera's experiences, Vips will talk about what was/wasn't successful in the industry and where the marketplace is headed for 2010 and beyond.

 Web Content Management 1.0 is dead! So says Forrester Senior Analyst, Stephen Powers. There are few that would disagree with him -- I mean hey, there's like "2.0" all over the place these days. We need some for CMS too, right?

But more importantly, what's next? That is indeed the question.

And so when we saw Modera (news, site) take a £1.3 million (roughly US$ 1.8 mil.) investment and announce intentions to build its next generation web application framework, we were intrigued.

Have they got the secret sauce for generation deux-point-zero content management? We went to Siim Vips (great name!), CEO of Modera, for the answer to that question. Here's what we learned.

Modera (news, site) has been talking about plans for their next generation web framework for a while now. But if you want a peek at what changes are coming that will affect their web content management and customer relationship management products, then read on.

In April of last year Modera, a UK based content management vendor, announced a number of new products at Internet World 2008. Products which included a new Web 2.0 ecommerce solution. Now they announce plans to invest some major cash into the research and development of the next generation of their web application platform ModeraNet -- which would, as a result, improve their web content management system Modera.

Too often we associate content management systems with boring, mundane industries. But even the exciting, impulsive side of things needs a CMS. Such is the glamorous life for Modera.

The multinational-based CMS specialists are gearing up to reveal their new line of products at this week’s Internet World 2008. Included in the unveiling is the new Web 2.0 e-commerce fan site for the popular British band, Jamiroquai, which was produced in conjunction with Modera’s partner, and the band’s digital marketing agency, Million Media.

Loath to ever be left out of a sandbox Yahoo! and Google have already begun to play in, last Friday Microsoft brought mash-up tool Popfly to the light of day.

Like its predecessors Yahoo! Pipes and Google’s RSS API, Popfly promises to be the Web mash-up builder “for the rest of us.”

Modera, an up and coming European Web CMS provider, has announced their latest core product release and the availability of a new Pro version of their CMS. The heavy focus is usability via AJAX with a touch of SEO for good measure.
