WebTrends Inc., a top provider of web analytics and online marketing solutions, has teamed up with Web CMS provider SDL Tridion in order to make online analytics and WCM integration easier and more effective than ever. Their solution is called WebTrends Enabler, and it allows marketers to easily synchronize with their online analytics and Web CMS with a little bit of tagging code.

The very last panel I attended at the Gilbane Conference in San Francisco was also one that I had the privilege of moderating. Our topic was the big hot topic of the conference: how to integrate social networking features into the enterprise and whether or not they can co-exist happily with a content management system. Specifically in our panel’s case, we talked about Facebook’s utility. The net takeaway from our panel was — it’s all about the platform; Facebook matters because of its ability to integrate outside applications.

When Xobni was formed in 2006 by two graduate students, it sought to improve, enhance and otherwise fix Microsoft Outlook.
Now, it’s taking its efforts even further with a new tool that plugs into Outlook. Their software, free and downloadable, indexes all the e-mail in Outlook and makes those messages easily searchable and readily available.

Acquia, Drupal founder Dries Buytaert’s new company, took to the stage last Thursday at the Launch Pad session at the web 2.0 Expo in SF. Although they didn’t win the people’s choice for best startup (this honor went to Triggit), their soon to be released Carbon and Spokes programs are still plenty enticing.

At the LiveLinkUp 2007 user conference in Orlando last month, Open Text discussed the state of the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) market today, how it’s changed over the last year, and what the future holds. Consensus is that more customers are looking at the bigger picture of ECM.
As is well known by the readers of this site, Open Text concludes that ECM has become a key element of the information strategies of global organizations.
