Online apps are becoming a big craze, particularly with the all-out war between Google Apps and Microsoft’s Office 365. But Zoho has been in the game for quite a while, reporting over six million users, and the company is now out with version 3.0 of its Docs online document management application. The enhancements focus on file sharing and collaboration, providing tighter integration across its office productivity apps.  

It may have been a holiday weekend in some places, but it was still busy in the document management space. This week we took a look at the paperless office and records management, Accusoft upgraded Content Connect to v7, AvePoint improved governance in SharePoint online, while Zoho integrated new email capabilities with its CRM app.

Productivity/collaboration solutions provider Zoho is adding updates to its CRM tool that make the solution more collaborative and social. New features include a document library, email filter and mobile location awareness capability.

Online application provider Zoho is launching Zoho Campaigns, a campaign management app for reaching out to customers via email or social media.

In a move it described as “pruning the garden,” online application provider Zoho has decided that it’s time to retire some of its products.

 Last month, Zoho launched a website builder tool designed to help non-technical users. This month, it continues its quest for simplification by releasing Zoho CRM – Reports integration, which will give Zoho CRM users access to advanced analytics features.

eZ Systems released the newest version of its flagship software, eZ Publish, and the Etna version 4.7 features a cloud-based Saas solution on the Red Hat enterprise cloud stack.

Consolidated cloud-services system stalwart Zoho has launched a website builder to go along with its suite of other tools for CRM, DAM and mobile apps. Zoho Sites is available now in the Google Apps Marketplace, and the two main levels are a free version, and a US$ 40 per year option for up to six websites.

This week there’s been a number of items, including the partnership between M-Files and goVirtualOffice for NetSuite Integration, Laserfiche has released an app for iPad, Zoho continues to offer social capabilities, Metalogix releases SharePoint Content Manager and Hannon Hill releases Cascade v7.0.

This week, Zoho announced that it was expanding its portfolio of mobile applications including Zoho Docs, OpenText extended the reach of its enterprise CMS for SAP, we took a look at whether Office 365 is good for your business, Cabinet NG releases WebSync and NovoDynamics launches NovoDocufier.

Zoho is bringing its impressive lineup of Web-based office apps from the desktop to smartphones with the arrival of Zoho Docs and Zoho CRM for Android (available now) and. Zoho Projects for Apple's iPhone, which will be available shortly.

As the trend to move off the desktop continues, Microsoft is reducing the pricing for its web-based Office 365 suite to enterprises with various packages down between 10% to 20% with storage slashed to cents per GB.

Zoho announced interface improvements, adding a handy new LinkedIn integration, a business card view for contacts and a reorganized Setup page to help its users stay connected.

 Assuming Microsoft accepts it has no tablet presence and won't for some time, then it needs to get Office to as many tablet users as possible to keep one toe in a booming market. So, why not bring a new Office to the iPad?
