Ephox Chalks-up Tastey CM Results

We often bring you news of financial successes and troubles of content management vendors in the industry. This time, happy cheers come from a related product line — online HTML editor tools — produced by Ephox. With the line up of integration partners, it's no wonder they are doing well.
Ephox produces a browser-based authoring tools called EditLive!. These tools provides rich content authoring capabilities for even the most technically challenged. They are embedded into some of the most advanced WCM products on the market today including, Vignette, Stellent, EMC Documentum and Percussion. Now that's pretty impressive!
With this in mind, it's no wonder Ephox has announced a record-producing fiscal quarter ending March 31, 2008. Their sales have grown by more than 200% over the same quarter a year ago. Now we can't tell you what that means exactly because they don't give actual numbers. But it does sound good doesn't it?
Ephox EditLive! products are Word-like authoring tools that is used in content management systems and wikis. From the look of it's feature set, it's the most comprehensive tool we've seen to date.

The products are JAVA based, so you know they are pretty stable. Some of the key advantages of this product line include:
- Provides complete control over the authoring experience
- Many Word-like editing features including spell check as you type and track changes
- Over 200 APIs that enable completely customization and extensibility
- Seamless integration with any CMS or application platform
According to Ephox, “User adoption is a critical issue as many organizations move to a self-publishing environment where content creators have to create and publish rich content with no help from the IT department.” They are definitely in the right market.
