It’s time for the Mobile App of the Week. This week we are concentrating on the Android version of eFax, the fax and document management app from J2 Global Inc.

Microsoft shows off Office for Windows Phone 8, Hyland Software announces a new app for Windows 8, and then announces an entire new subsidiary in the UK, while Google makes Docs, Sheets and Slides available for Chromebook. Busy times in the document management industry.

There were many issues addressed this afternoon at Nuxeo World around the release of v5.6, Nuxeo World, which is currently under way in Paris, gave many their first real look at some of the highlights, including the Content Routing feature.

Brendan Coveney is a funny man. He’s also head of Americas and Asia/Pacific for Nuxeo.  At last year’s Nuxeo World he gave an entertaining and insightful – seems the two can go together – analysis of content optimization. This year at NuxeoWorld he took on the no less stimulating top of the Power of the Platform for building apps, nudist beaches, and the features a great platform should have.

There has been anecdotal evidence across the industry about the growth of Nuxeo in Europe since it opened its doors in 2000, and more recently in the US where it set up in 2009. As with many companies it’s hard to nail this down with figures -- but the opening address by Nuxeo CEO Eric Barroca at this week's Nuxeo World 2012 in Paris gave us some idea of what's happening behind the scenes.

There have been a few notable announcements this week in the document management space. Office Web Apps 2013 is now available in SkyDrive, Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for ECM for 2012 has been released, and Nuxeo is holding its annual conference. In addition, Concept Searching has announced that its conceptClassifier for SharePoint is available for Office 365.

In our first look at Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Content Management 2012 we saw that mobile, cloud and composite apps are increasingly important in the Enterprise CMS space. Now we will take a look at those vendors that made it into the Leader’s Quadrant.

Last month that Nuxeo released v5.6 and with it a new content routing feature. Well later this week we’ll be able to get a whole lot more information about the upgrade, and new feature, as Nuxeo World kicks off this Thursday in Paris.

Enterprise-based searching always wants more. And dtSearch, a supplier of enterprise and developer text retrieval software, is offering more -- with the recently announced version 7.70 of its product line.
