In the information management world, only Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff can better Oracle CEO Larry Ellison for pithy put-downs. At a panel discussion at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in San Francisco this week, it looks like the put-downs will be more than just verbal. He admitted that at Dreamforce  next week,  Salesforce is readying applications to compete with Box, Okta and Asana.

Every week there seems to be a new cloud-based file sharing option launching.  At some point, as the market matures some vendors will take a bow and others will join forces to create new, more comprehensive offerings. SkyDox and Workshare must have gotten the memo early. The pair announced today that they are joining forces.

Google is expanding the functionality of its cloud-based Drive document management service for iOS and Android users. Starting today, users of the iOS Drive app will have the same document-editing ability that users of the Android Drive app already possess.

As many of those who have used Microsoft SharePoint will know, it is a bit of a "kitchen sink" product.
