This week in the GRC space, new research from IDC shows security and regulatory concerns are holding back cloud adoption, at least in the utilities vertical; NextDocs upgrades its SharePoint compliance product; Avira tracks lost Androids and LockPath partners with Qualys.

For once, I haven't read about Google upsetting someone this week, is the company taking it easy in the run up to Spring Break? Instead, there's useful new features in Android updates, a push on Google Wallet and the company is seeing positive corporate signs in a highly competitive market.

Microsoft released research that claims cloud computing will create almost 14 million new jobs worldwide by 2015, with revenues projected to reach US$ 1.1 trillion per year.

The latest data from IDC confirms what many of you already believe --  tablet and eReader sales are growing wildly. The market, led by Apple’s iPad, continues to add new products and consumer lust for the latest and greatest gadget shows no signs of abating.

For the third year in a row, research firm IDC has kicked out its list of 10 Innovative Application Companies Under $100M to Watch. 

Some call it the post-PC era, like former Apple CEO Steve Jobs would. Some claim that the popularity of tablets and smartphones is just a fad, as former Asus Chairman Stan Shih once said. But make no mistake about it: Mobile Internet is on the rise. In fact, IDC says mobile Internet access will overtake wireline access by 2015.
