Back to Anaheim and Colligo, with the announcement that Colligo has released an eight-product integrated suite of email and document management applications that covers just about every enterprise SharePoint need conceivable across PCs, tablets, laptops and smartphones, on-premise and in the cloud.

The only thing that is clear about the HP acquisition of Autonomy deal at the moment is that it was concluded, after the U$ 10.24 billion deal was finally given the green light by 87% of Autonomy’s shareholders.

Yesterday at the SharePoint conference I got to attend a session on using Visio Services to build dashboards in Office 365 (#SPC289). This was one of the seven different sessions that focus on Visio during the SharePoint conference, and it focused on what all you can do with Visio Services out-of-the-box (OOTB) configurations.

It’s a busy week everywhere, with Oracle and SharePoint’s annual conference. And there’s been a lot of document management too. Xerox has upgraded DocuShare, Oracle’s E-Business Suite has new invoice security, Autonomy has upgraded WorkSite, there’s mobile document management for iPad from NewSoft, while Colligo and NewsGator have teamed up for SharePoint functionality.

The second session that I attended yesterday at the 2011 SharePoint conference was about managing the lifecycle of your website design (#SPC258). This session focused mostly on public-facing websites but had a lot of great content that was also applicable to Intranet site designs. The session was delivered by PJ Zargarzadeh, who is a TSP for Microsoft in Canada. PJ had a great presentation style that really lent itself well to this type of delivery.

Open source ECM platform vendor Nuxeo is having a busy week. Yesterday, it announced its pretty new interface for its subscription support portal, and today, the availability of its development environment. Christmas must be coming early for Nuxeo users.

The first session of the 2011 SharePoint conference I decided to check out was in regards to Microsoft’s vision for business intelligence (BI). This has been a hot topic for many readers who are interested in moving to SharePoint or are already invested in the platform. The presentation was delivered by Microsoft’s Steve Tullis, Group Program Manager for the Office BI team, and Kamal Hathi, General Manager of the BI Group in Microsoft SQL Server.

Yesterday was the official kickoff of the 2011 SharePoint conference. The first thing up on the agenda was the keynote.

Heading into Day 2 of the SharePoint conference in Anaheim, Calif., and in terms of new releases migration tools and enterprise collaboration remain the buzzwords among delegates and vendors -- not surprising, really, given the relative youth of SharePoint 2010. Nuxeo Connect, the commercial support portal for open source enterprise content management (ECM) platform Nuxeo is looking pretty, errr.. well, pretty. Nuxeo has released its second interface design this year for the support portal, and it’s looking pretty good.

It's SharePoint time again as this year’s conference kicks off in Anheim, Calif., for four days of demonstrations and releases. With a more than a year gone since the release of SharePoint 2010, there are now dozens of releases of products to the market, and many more as this conference will show.

 Later this month, Nuxeo users and partners will get a chance to exchange information -- and even phone numbers -- at Nuxeo World, which will be held in Paris on October 20 and 21.

Oracle’s OpenWorld has finally kicked off with the customary keynote from CEO Larry Ellison. Leaving aside the fact that many are saying this was his worst keynote ever, for those in enterprise computing the launch of the Exalytics analytics appliance is the one most will be watching.

Next week I will have the opportunity to attend the SharePoint Conference in Anaheim, Calif. This will be the third time I am attending the conference, and to say I am excited would be an understatement! These conferences are a great opportunity to learn about the latest technologies and to network with the community.

During this year’s conference, I will be creating daily summaries of the event from an information worker’s perspective. This will allow me to focus on specific key areas for users who are using SharePoint out of the box. I will share with you what I am learning, whom I am meeting and any must-have resources I find. In this article, I am going to share with you my goals for the conference and also what sessions I am planning to attend. In my final article of the series, I will revisit these goals and review how well I did.
