If you thought all the SharePoint 2010 migration options had been exhausted at this point, think again. It has just found something else to migrate into SharePoint, this time in the shape of the migration of Exchange public folders.

It's SharePoint time again as this year’s conference kicks off in Anheim, Calif., for four days of demonstrations and releases. With a more than a year gone since the release of SharePoint 2010, there are now dozens of releases of products to the market, and many more as this conference will show.

Looks like vacations in document-management land are coming to an end. This week alone, Box enhanced its mobile document management offerings, Metalogix offers content migration from SharePoint to Documentum, PSIGEN offers Office 365 scanning, Cabinet NG upgrades CNG-WEB, and Fijitsu offers scanning for Laserfiche.

Legacy content and enterprise content management systems were always going to be one of the problems with SharePoint 2010 deployment. Slowly but surely, Metalogix (news, site) is going through the list of major enterprise CMs and providing a way of getting content from legacy systems into SharePoint. This week it’s Documentum's turn.

With all the problems associated with keeping track of information, particularly now with the multiplication of SharePoint deployments, archiving tools are always welcome -- particularly if they work. Metalogix (news, site) has done a good line on this over the years, and today has announced the release of Archive Manager 5.0 that focuses on Exchange, SharePoint and files.

This week in document management there’s been a couple of extensions for SharePoint, including one built by MetaLogix and a partnership for extending its records management, while HyperOffice has been taking a look at email management. Otherwise, this week there is also a business card reader for iPhone.

The current list of companies lining up to offer BPOS migration or integration offerings since the release of SharePoint 2010 continues to grow. Metalogix (news, site), one such company, does SharePoint migrations for a living, so the release of a migration tool for SharePoint content into BPOS-D was expected, especially with the upcoming general release of Office365.

If you are using SharePoint for the bulk of your information management needs, it's likely you have way to much content stored in SharePoint's SQL Server database. So a separate storage solution like that offered from StorSimple might be just what you need. But how do you know if they are the right cloud storage vendor for the job?

There are a few providers of systems management for SharePoint. One of these is NetWrix, who offers a SharePoint Change Reporter. 

A couple of months ago, Metalogix (news, site) acquired StoragePoint, a provider of external storage options for SharePoint. Now we see the first official release of that acquisition.

Vamosa (news,site) has some additional SharePoint capabilities in its portfolio through a new partnership with MetaVis Technologies.

Their recent acquisition of StoragePoint, another SharePoint solution provider, has added a new capability to their suite of solutions -- one that will appeal to many organizations.
