Gartner’s Business Process Management summit, underway in London, has thrown up some interesting offerings, which we’ll come back to, but one thing of note is the announcement by Capgemini that it is launching a worldwide service that will pull all its BPM elements under one umbrella.

A new hosted human resources management system, built around Oracle’s (news, site) E-Business suite has just been launched by a Mumbai-based business process outsourcing company which says the new solution will dramatically cut the costs of implementing human resources management software.

While Xerox (news, site) may have made a first quarter loss this year, no one seems particularly bothered. That’s because it also reported a 33% increase in sales while the losses can be explained by the closure of the Affiliated Computer Service (ACS) deal giving Xerox real clout in the business process outsourcing market.

The second big industry acquisition in two weeks sees Xerox Corp (news, site) taking over Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) in a US$ 6.4 billion cash deal that will see the document management giant take on US$ 2 billion of ACS debt as part of the takeover.

According to statements issued on Monday, ACS shareholders will receive US$ 63.11 per share, with the combined company expected to create a US$ 22 billion global enterprise for document technology and business process management.
