Crabtree is the founder of Speaku, a discussion network that bridges the gap between the rich content and high-quality information typically found in blogs, forums and news sites, and the real-time interactions of social networks like Facebook and Twitter. He was the former chief technology officer and founder of Mozenda Inc. a software-as-a-service-based leader in web data extraction. At Mozenda, Crabtree was responsible for creating one of the first GUI-based data extraction tools—The Web Agent Builder —which has been used by more than 30,000 companies worldwide. Prior to Mozenda, Crabtree held several senior developer and systems engineering positions most notably with Symantec Corp. and LANDesk Software Inc., where he helped develop such market-leading products as Symantec’s Enterprise Security Manager software and LANDesk’s Asset Manager software. Crabtree has earned his Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification and has trained several engineering teams on software security issues. Prior to Symantec and LANDesk, Crabtree worked for several small software start-up companies. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in computer science in 1998.
