Kaan Varnali, Ph.D. is a behavioral scientist, on a mission to break down complex behavioral science topics into simple, actionable business strategies.
Dr. Varnali is a highly-cited researcher. He has published more than 30 manuscripts over the course of his career, some of which have appeared in highly regarded scholarly journals such as the Journal of Business Research, Journal of Services Marketing, International Journal of Information Management, and Electronic Commerce Research & Applications, receiving more than 1550 citations globally. He has also been serving as a reviewer for a number of prominent academic journals such as the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science and Computers in Human Behavior. His research has always been focused on two main areas: customer experience management and consumer behavior in digital environments. He has authored four best-seller books. His first ever book, Mobile Marketing: Fundamentals & Strategy, published by McGraw-Hill in 2010, is amongst the few pioneering works on how to successfully utilize the mobile medium to engage customers. In the customer experience domain, he has spent more than a decade conducting research on customer journeys and complaint management.
As a consultant and an executive trainer, Dr. Varnali helps organizations better understand their goals and transform into sustainable people-centric ecosystems. He applies lessons from behavioral sciences to redesign organizational processes and develop customer acquisition and retention strategies. He has worked with a number of firms in the EMEA region, ranging from major banks and financial institutions to digital start-ups in improving their customer experience management and marketing capabilities. He is a well recognized authority on customer experience design and marketing research in Turkey, where he built his early career before moving to California, USA.
Dr. Varnali lives and works out of his home in Irvine, California, and enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and 2 children. He is a nature enthusiast and loves active sports.
