Sean Parnell is president of Innovaxis Marketing, which he co-founded in 2007 with CEO Lina Parnell. Sean serves as marketing consultant, developing marketing strategies for small and midsized B2B companies and nonprofits and custom marketing programs that generate sustainable, double-digit revenue growth with a 300%+ ROI within the first 18 months.
Prior to Innovaxis, Sean worked for a market research firm, developing go-to-market strategies for several Fortune 500 manufacturers and services firms. He also worked for four manufacturing companies as a product manager, including Shure and Bell + Howell — Sean has even managed flagship product development projects, leading teams of engineers. Sean is a certified Blue Ocean Strategy practitioner, a member of Vistage and the Forbes Agency Council, and has also served on the boards of The People’s Music School and AIESEC at Northwestern and Northern Illinois University (NIU). Sean graduated with honors from NIU with a BS in Operations Management & Information Systems.
Sean draws from three decades of experience to cover marketing strategy, content marketing, digital marketing, website development, search engine optimization (SEO), marketing automation, product management, pricing strategy, channel management, and other ways companies and nonprofits can grow. Sean has written numerous articles, presented at conferences, has led a multitude of webinars, and serves as a peer advisor in multiple CEO groups.
Sean is also the author of Historic Bars of Chicago and founder of the Chicago Bar Project, which chronicles the city’s historic bars and tavern culture. He has written about Chicago bars for Time Out and Esquire. Originally from Wheaton, Illinois, Sean has lived in Chicago since beginning his career and now resides in the North Center neighborhood.
