IGLOO Software Adds Social Workflow Module to Social Networking Suite #e2conf
IGLOO Software (news, site) has added a nice capability to its social networking suite -- social workflow.

Collaborative Workflow

This latest update from IGLOO Software, announced today at the Enterprise 2.0 Conference in Boston, is the third major release of the online community solution this year.

The key addition is social workflow, which offers organizations the ability to view all content and approve/reject it before it's published, including social interactions. Now that may seem a bit odd, applying workflow to social interactions, but you could see the potential need for it in some situations.

While it's fine to catch some things after the fact, sometimes it may be better to just ensure they don't happen in the first place. I don't see workflow like approval/rejection being required in most situations, but I do see the potential to use workflow to kick off additional tasks and process when certain things are done.

Additional Enhancements

In addition to the new workflow capability, usability enhancements have also been done around several important social elements including:

  • File Sharing
  • Commenting
  • Rating
  • Discussions

This latest release is scheduled to be available to all customers on July 16, 2011.
