Sharon Fisher has been working in the computer trade press for 40 years, with full-time stints at InfoWorld, CommunicationsWeek and Computerworld. In addition, Fisher is the author of "Riding the Internet Highway" as well as chapters in several other computer books. She has been writing about artificial intelligence and machine learning for more than 10 years. She also served as a research director for Gartner for seven years, covering network management.
Fisher is currently a freelance writer and consultant, and her work has been published internationally in a range of publications.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a master’s degree with honors in public administration from Boise State University as well as graduate certificates in community and regional planning and geographic informational analysis (GIS).
Fisher has been a digital nomad since 2020 and lived in 18 countries so far.
