Plumtree announced earnings yesterday, which while not impressive in themselves, were accompanied by some solid sounding mid-term strategy declarations, two significant executive hiring announcements, and some strongly positive product feedback. Of particular note is InfoWorld doling out the highest possible rating in an product review of Plumtree's Enterprise Web Suite. The high marks came for the suite's ability to manage service-oriented applications. According to InfoWorld, Plumtree's Enterprise Web Suite outperformed IBM's WebSphere Portal by 13% and Microsoft's SharePoint Portal Server by 21%. This is notable as IBM have been making a lot of noise around SOA. For Plumbtree to post strong marks here is an achievement and a positive sign that the big blue portal must still run for its money.
