ALA Survey
Here at CMSWire, we'll be the first ones to tell you how awesome we, who work in the web and technology fields, are. As for data to back up our claim, well there's not a lot of it. So, that's why the folks at A List Apart, the webzine for web designers, developers, information architects, project managers, writers, editors, marketers and everyone else who makes websites has taken it upon themselves to once again survey us so that a "true picture of the way our profession is practiced worldwide" can be represented. It's hard to deny the importance of the web, especially in the last few years. Our online efforts make things possible and if done correctly, make things easier for a lot of people. Whether we provide e-commerce, online education, news or entertainment, the Web certainly has become a way of life for many of us around the world. Yet, until last year, no one bothered to create a snapshot of what the demographic of people who make websites look like. So whether you're underpaid, overpaid, overexposed or under-appreciated, take the A List Apart survey and get counted. This year's survey offers more opportunities for respondents to be more detailed about their experiences, including more questions for freelancers and small business owners. As always, ALA will analyze the results and publish them in an upcoming issue. You can even check out last year's results. Whatever you do, take the survey and make us proud!
