The team at open source content management provider, XOOPS has released the latest version of itsplatform. Although the release has a minor version number update to 2.5.4, the enhancementsare major if you care about ease of use.
XOOPS, but Easier to Use
The latest version of PHP-based XOOPS includes severaldefect fixesand version updates tomultiple open source libraries like PHPMailerand the TinyMCE WYSIWYG contenteditor. These changes are beneficial,but the big news is updates to the userinterface. XOOPS had made asignificanteffort to convert its user interface to a consistent lookand feel. Goingforward, one module will be the official base for allmodules supported byXOOPS. According to XOOPS representatives, thenew, more consistent userexperience should drive:

Although XOOPS does not receive as much press asDrupalor Joomla!, it is quite widely used. The open source platform has managed to thrive for a decade. Users like the flexibility of the module-based platform.
