Barry Schaeffer
Barry is Principal consultant with Content Life-cycle Consulting, Inc. In 1993, he founded and led XSystems Inc, a system development and consulting firm specializing in text-based information systems, with industrial, legal/judicial and publishing clients among the Fortune 500, non-profit organizations and government agencies.
XSI was acquired by XyEnterprise in 2008. During his more than 40-year career, Barry has held management/technical positions with The Bell System, Xerox, Planning Research Corporation, U.S. News and World Report, Grumman Data Systems and XyEnterprise. As a consultant and systems architect, he has supported more than 50 clients including major corporations, federal, civilian and defense agencies and state governments.
Barry is a frequent speaker and contributor on subjects related to information and content management. His work with structured information began in 1979 with SGML, and with XML from its initial publication in 1996.
