Jennifer Torres is an award-winning journalist based in Florida. She currently serves as staff reporter for Simpler Media Group/CMSWire covering customer experience and marketing. Torres also hosts CMSWire’s CMO Circle and co-host’s CMSWire’s CX Decoded podcast.
She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a BS in Criminal Justice and a Certificate in Criminal Profiling.
Her journalism career began in 2002 as a reporter for Gannett’s Florida Today/USA Today covering courts, crime and government.. Later, as a business reporter, her team’s coverage won the prestigious “Best in Business” award two years in-a-row from the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing (SABEW). She was eventually promoted to columnist and wrote a popular retail trends column for several years.
Torres went on to write for a wide variety of news outlets including Vero News, Islander News, Viera Voice,Florida Tech News — and many online publications — like Distractify (to indulge her love of all things entertainment and pop culture).
Torres is also the published author of 10 books including The Briny Deep Mysteries, and previously served as a marketing officer at Florida Institute of Technology.
