Jim Dewald, the author of Achieving Longevity: How Great Firms Prosper through Entrepreneurial Thinking, is dean of the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary in Alberta and an associate professor in the strategy and global management area. His research interests are related to the micro-foundations of strategy formulation and implementation. In addition to Achieving Longevity, Jim has two other books, two book chapters and several articles to his credit, including publications in Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice and the Journal of Management Studies. Before entering academe, he was CEO of two major real estate development companies and a leading local engineering consulting practice. He holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering and a MBA from the University of Alberta, and a PhD in strategy and global management from the University of Calgary.
