In a move that it said demonstrated its commitment to the managed analytics marketplace, Deloitte (news, site) acquired "substantially all" of the assets of SaaS business intelligence vendor Oco Inc. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Financial giant Deloitte has been marketing itself as a business intelligence company, noting that Gartner recently placed it in the much-desired "Leaders" section in the January 2011 Magic Quadrant for Global Business Intelligence and Performance Management Service Providers.

Extending a Position

Oco's capabilities and market position can extend Deloitte's presence in business analytics, the company said, with Jane Griffin, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP and Deloitte Analytics leader, adding:

More and more businesses are looking for both analysis and real insights gleaned from multiple sources without having to make significant investments in internal infrastructure and support, This acquisition enhances our ability to help further an organization's existing business analytics and data management strategy."

What Oco Offers

Oco, used by organizations such as Welch's, offers SaaS BI applications in areas such as Sales & Gross Margin Analysis, Customer & Product Profitability, Customer Experience, Aftermarket Services Revenue Growth, Services Operations & Warranty Analysis, Supplier Evaluation, Inventory Performance, Transportation Analytics and Transportation Contract Compliance.
