ECM provider Open Text has announced the availability of an Office Business Application for accessing, and managing, customer information. Built on the '07 Microsoft Office system for commercial availability, the Livelink ECM -- Customer Information Management tool provides a complete view of all the information associated with a customer, from any typically-utilized content repository.Office Business Applications in general take a complex mass of information and essentially mask it behind a simpler, more streamlined format. So through the Office interface, which is what most business users are familiar with, users get access to process-centric and document-centric forms of data. In addition to the Customer Information Management tool, Open Text also proffers extensions and connectors to help its partners and customers build their own enterprise-scale Office Business Applications.
