Design platform expands AI prototyping tool with flexible data integrations for enterprise teams.

The Gist

  • Expanded integrations. Figma Make now connects with Amplitude, Box, Dovetail and others.
  • Custom connector support. Users can link any remote MCP server to Make.
  • Enterprise collaboration impact. Product teams with paid plans gain flexible, secure data integration for prototyping.

Figma expanded its AI-powered prototyping tool Figma Make on Feb. 20, introducing custom Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector support alongside certified connectors for Amplitude, Box, Dovetail, Granola, Marvin and zeroheight.

According to company officials, the update enables teams to integrate live data and documents from external tools directly into AI-powered prototypes. Make can now pull context from design system documentation, product requirements documents, user research and feedback across a product ecosystem.

The feature requires paid Figma plans and edit access to files. Users must hold accounts with external services to use related connectors.

Figma Evolves in Digital Experience

Figma in 2025 evolved from design collaboration tool to comprehensive digital experience platform through strategic acquisitions and an IPO. In June 2025, the company acquired Payload, a US-based open-source headless CMS and application framework. The company filed for an IPO on July 1, 2025, priced at $33 per share, and debuted on the NYSE on July 31 with shares closing at $115.50.

The company accelerated its AI-powered product expansion throughout 2025. In May, Figma launched Figma Make, an AI-powered tool transforming designs into functional prototypes, which later exited beta for all users. In January 2026, Figma integrated Anthropic's Claude to generate editable diagrams directly in FigJam workspaces.

On Feb. 18, the company reported Q4 FY2025 revenue of $303.8 million, up 40% year over year, with weekly active users of Figma Make growing more than 70% quarter over quarter.

Emergence of MCP Protocol Context in Digital Experience

Model Context Protocol is emerging as the missing link connecting AI across enterprise tech stacks, changing how teams move from design to production.

MCP functions as a universal connector between AI agents and business platforms. Anthropic, the firm behind Claude, released the open-source standard to support agentic AI development. Organizations must approach MCP with caution alongside enthusiasm, as connecting AI to sensitive systems requires strong governance.
