Learning Opportunities

OpenText Content Day Recap

In a breakout session during last week's OpenText Content Day, Marci Maddox, Director of Global Product Marketing at OpenText, discussed the important role rich media plays in customer experience.

Of course, if you can't find existing digital assets or you recreate assets that already exist in your organization, you are wasting time and money. Further, followup to assess how the message resonated -- or didn't -- should be part of an organization's digital strategy.

Gannett's DAM Plan to Improve Growth

Gannett, which owns 82 daily newspapers, reported a 25% drop in first-quarter profits as a result of a decline in ad revenue. Paul Sweeney, senior media analyst for Bloomberg Industries, says that Gannett's focus on improving digital assets is the best way for the company to improve growth. A detailed explanation of Gannett's financial report is posted on the company site.

North Plains Acquires Xinet

North Plains acquired Xinet, helping the company expand in Europe and giving it a boost in human resources. "What North Plains sees happening is that it will use Xinet’s technology for file-based management of WIP assets, particularly for enterprise organizations, publishers and media companies that need to globally distribute their global media," David Roe reports. North Plains says it is not planning significant changes to Xinet's products but it does envision improved integration between Xinet's WebNative and North Plain's Telescope products.
