AvePoint (news, site) bands with Colligo to offer a combined solution for SharePoint email, document and lifecycle management.

Two Worlds Collide

AvePoint and Colligo have got together and integrated and tested their respective SharePoint product suites to offer customers a combined fuller-featured combination offering that addresses a wider range of client needs.

From Colligo's corner, users get Contributor, which offers an add-in for Outlook for two-way access, email drag-and-drop and metadata capture -- an extension for linking Windows folders on users' file systems with SharePoint document libraries and a standalone client for metadata management.

AvePoint's DocAve offers an infrastructure management and protection solution for SharePoint 2010 that brings a unified, browser-based user interface and distributed architecture, with a range of modules for system protection, administration, replication, migration, archiving, deployment management, reporting, storage optimization and content lifecycle management.

Happy Customers

Customers of both companies can now deploy the products together in the knowledge that they will work to offer a combined solution that will go a long way to dealing with SharePoint's weaknesses. Both are available today, and combine to bring document and email managment and infrastructure management together.

Colligo products start from the US$ 120 mark while AvePoint did not reveal pricing. Free trials are available for both companies' products, allowing users to test the features and integration for themselves.
