A Solid Start to 09 for Web Content Management Provider Ektron

Ektron results confirms WCM as industry stableg
With budgets the way they are at the moment, you could not be faulted for a bit of skepticism around Forrester Research’s January report, which said Web Content Management activity remained, and would remain, high for 2009.

But they may have it right because Ektron (news, site), a provider of scalable Web Content Wanagement and authoring solutions, has just reported a 26% growth in year-on-year revenues for the Q1 of this year.

Achieving More With Less

In much the same vein as the Forrester report, Bill Rogers, CEO of Ektron, said that there are two notable trends that explain the current performance of the company, "the rise in businesses looking to enhance online customer experience and the need to accomplish more with less."

While a breakdown of  Ektron's figures have not been made public, Rogers says that "both are resulting in an increase in demand for Ektron CMS400.NET . . . we expect it [demand] to continue throughout 2009.”

Personalization, rich internet application management and rich media management topped the list of customer experience related functionality demands all cited in the Forrester report as paramount.

CMS400.NET is a Growth Driver

Ektron says its CMS400.NET solution provides these very things. CMS400.NET has an API that provides an open architecture for customizations. At the same time it provides an intuitive user interface for managing website’s content and messaging. That it has stuck a cord with the business community seems clear from revenue growth.

Learning Opportunities

The system is applicable to single, uncomplicated sites up to enterprise level deployments. CMS400.NET ships with a wide array of functionality, including social networking, Web 2.0, SEO and synchronization tools.

While there is no doubt an increase in revenue figures is a welcome sound to the ears of Ektron’s directors, it would be interesting to see a full set of figures to see how that revenue growth translates into profit, or losses.

Synergy 2009 Announced

Meanwhile, Ektron has announced details of its Synergy 2009, Ektron’s Worldwide Customer Conference.

The conference, taking place between November 1 and November 4 at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, will focus on how users can get the best out of CMS400.NET, from new technology integrations to moving enterprise websites forward by implementing it.
