Following the many other Web CMS vendors who've got the Web Engagement Management (WEM) wind in their sails, Bridgeline Digital (news, site) joins the movement with the addition of the iAPPS Marketier product to its line of SaaS Content Management and E-commerce offerings. Here are the details.

Making the Entry into the WEM Game

The iAPPS Product Suite's four pillars include Web Content Management, E-commerce, E-marketing and analytics. The new release of iAPPS Marketier aims to ease the lives of online marketeers with tools for creation, management and measurement of online and email campaigns.

Some of the integration points result in the ability to see and manage campaign goals, progress and results; and deploy event-triggered conversations and activities (such as receiving a recommendation email/related products up-sell after you purchase something at an online retailer).

Some audience management functions are presented via "list management capabilities" that allow for interaction with a database of contacts versus importing them in CSV or other format from external sources.

Among other WEM-related features are:

  • Targeted list development
  • Email creation and execution
  • Goal tracking
  • Campaign cost analysis
  • Landing page optimization
  • Salesforce.com integration

Other expected functions like re-usability of content and digital assets and graphical analytical overlays also come as part of this release.

iAPPS Marketier -- as all other Bridgeline products -- is sold via a monthly subscription fee or as a traditional perpetual license.

While the vendor says that due to native integration among all the products in the iAPPS Product Suite everything "is essentially out-of-the-box,” do your homework and check how easy it really is in practice in this relatively new field of converging WEM and WCM.
