CMSWire Tweet Jam: From Good Employee Experience to Great CX #DigWorkChat

The importance of customer experience has become something of a mantra for businesses in the last few years, while employee experience has only recently come into the spotlight.

While it seems like common sense that employees who excel at and enjoy their work would deliver better customer experiences, the connection between the two has remained for the most part anecdotal. But with customer experience increasingly becoming the differentiator between success and failure as a business and competition for strong employees at an all time high, brands can no longer afford to push the relationship between the two aside as a theory.

So what can companies do to improve and shape the employee experience and how can they potentially measure the impact on customer experience? Join us on May 30 to discuss this and more during our hour-long Tweet Jam. Everyone is invited to join in — log into Twitter and jump in the conversation using the #DigWorkchat hashtag.

The Questions

Tweet Jams rarely travel a linear path, but these questions will help shape the discussion:

  1. What factors are driving the current emphasis on employee experience?
  2. Which department or individual should lead employee experience efforts?
  3. What kind of metrics can businesses use to show the link between customer and employee experiences?
  4. Name some common characteristics of an excellent employee experience.
  5. What specific initiatives have you seen lead to improved employee experience?
  6. What specific tactics can businesses take to empower front-line employees?
  7. Is it possible for a business to coast by with a poor employee experience but a strong customer experience? Why or why not?

Participation Guidelines

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Introduce yourself with your first #digworkchat tweet. Include your name, job title and organization you work for.
  • Answer question one with A1, question two with A2, etc. — and always include the #digworkchat hashtag. For example, "@bigbird A2 Employee experience is bigger than the HR department. It needs to be an organization-wide initiative, ideally with a dedicated person or people leading it #digworkchat"
  • Please don't pitch products or services — stay knowledge focused.
  • Keep the discussion professional, but informal.
  • Remember this is a public chat — be thoughtful.
