amazon web services re:invent conference

Accenture is expanding its business group that helps companies migrate to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud.

Accenture made the announcement today at AWS re:Invent, the annual AWS customer conference. Some 32,000 people are attending the conference, which runs through Friday at the Venetian, Mirage and Encore hotels in Las Vegas.

Accenture and AWS jointly announced the formation of the Accenture AWS Business Group at re:Invent last year. The dedicated business group includes professionals from both Accenture and AWS with expertise in cloud solutions architecture and development, marketing, sales and business development. To date, it has trained 2,000 Accenture technologists and earned 500 AWS certifications.

Now the Accenture AWS Business Group will expand its offerings for application transformation services and security while continuing to grow Internet of Things (IoT) Solutions, Transformation Services, optimized for AWS and Analytics and Big Data Services, powered by AWS.

AWS Partner Programs Expand

Amazon also announced three new AWS Partner Network (APN) programs: the AWS Service Delivery Program, the APN Public Sector Partner Program and the VMware Cloud on AWS Partner Program.

The programs will support APN partners who provide solutions and expertise for specific services, workloads and industry verticals. AWS also launched two new AWS competencies for financial services and IoT.

The AWS Partner Network has called Accenture for the last four years a "premier consulting partner." Accenture earned eight AWS competencies and is recognized as an AWS Managed Service Partner.

Boost for Accenture Cloud

Accenture officials also announced the company integrated cloud management capabilities of the AWS Cloud into the Accenture Cloud Platform (ACP), an open and scalable cloud management solution for enterprises.

The ACP capabilities are:

  • Native support for AWS CloudFormation: Supporting blueprints and blueprint management that includes AWS Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) services
  • Centralized tag management
  • AWS-wide cost policies, budgets and quotas: Cost management feature works across all AWS regions and data centers
