Mainsoft (news, site) pumps up IBM's Rational Jazz with another addition to its line of social integration and collaboration tools.

Helping Teams Connect Socially

Mainsoft specializes in bringing connectivity and collaboration to enterprise applications, and is rapidly expanding its range across the likes of the recently announced SharePoint with its Harmony sidebar, and integrators for the likes of Notes and Websphere. The company's latest release is Social Connector for IBM's Rational Jazz, which is being unveiled at the IBM Innovate 2010 show, that starts today.

The product will make social networks available to Rational Team Concert developers, allowing them to bring social functions to businesses and team units, directly from within enterprise applications rather than making users jump to websites to keep tabs on the latest developments.

A Community Preview

Mainsoft already has a SharePoint connector for Rational Jazz and launches the Social Connector as a community preview, allowing developers to test out the system and try some early adopting. The Social Connector will, in future, let users link into other systems like SharePoint to bring almost all social business systems together.

The benefits of the Social Connector include making IBM Lotus Connections blogs, wikis, communities, activities and profiles directly available. This gives users the ability to make projects more social, less sterile affairs. It could help distributed staff to get to know and work with each other better, and share ideas and solve problems together.
