Mimosa Enters the Magic Quadrant
The title of visionary isn't one that is handed out as readily as it once was. Move over Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford. Make room for Mimosa (news, site).

The email and file archiving solution provider has been named a Visionary Vendor by Gartner, Inc. in its “Magic Quadrant for E-Mail Active Archiving.” But it didn't happen over night. Mimosa spent the better part of the last year adding new features to its Mimosa NearPoint platform to support eDiscovery, search and compliance.

Making Magic

The Magic Quadrant represents a particular marketplace at and for a specific time period. Gartner analyzes vendors about how they measure up against each other based upon two criteria: completeness of vision and ability to execute.

The Magic Quadrant then rates the participants into one of four quadrants: Leaders, Challengers, Visionaries, Niche Players. While Gartner urges the industry not to take these rankings as law, only as research, the Magic Quadrant tends to highlight vendors who are ahead of the curve.

NearPoint Meeting Industry Needs

With more than 800 customers worldwide, Mimosa's NearPoint technology platform has been expanding to meet demands of the industry. From government, healthcare and energy, Mimosa has been working to implement cost-saving, time-saving and productive archiving solutions.

The NearPoint software offers companies a variety of archiving options for a variety of platforms, including SharePoint, desktops and file shares; uses, including eDiscovery, retention and classification and content monitoring.

Users can expect to manage and archive their large amount of data through a well-executed framework that automatically classifies, retains, tags, scans and archives.

As well, Mimosa continues to expand its platform globally, by meeting and exceeding the demands of the email archiving marketplace. That takes dedication, committment, and above all vision.
