Microsoft has release service pack two (SP2) for Office Sharepoint Portal Server (SPS) and Windows SharePoint Services (WSS). There's no big excitement here save for sys admins who might be tired of SPS/WSS stability and performance issues.According to MS, "Service Pack 2 contains significant security enhancements, stability improvements, and performance improvements". The security enhancements are limited to SPS, but the stability and performance improvements are pleasingly shared across both products. MS has provided a list of corrected SPS issues. Its important to note that one may not uninstall the service pack, post install. With that in mind, we are so far happy to report that we've not encountered nor heard of any serious issues with the upgrade. Nevertheless, conservative consumers should review these search results. You can get yer grubby mits on the downloads either from Microsoft.com (SPS || WSS) directly, or by running windows update.
