The Interact Mobile product family provides remote access to Perceptive Software enterprise CMS solutions.
Business on the Move
Process and content management solutions provider Perceptive Software launched a product family that allows mobile access to the company's business processes solutions. Interact Mobile for iPad is available now, and Interact Mobile for Android is scheduled to be released this summer with the next release of ImageNow.
"Interact Mobile for iPad offers high-resolution document viewing and process interaction via the device’s native Multi-Touch interface and supports the currently released version of ImageNow 6.6," the announcement explains. Other than that, not much information about the new mobile offerings is available yet.
Perceptive and ImageNow
In 2010, Lexmark bought Perceptive, and a few months later the companies released Interact, an Embedded Solutions Framework. ImageNow, a document management, document imaging and workflow solution, was the focus of the acquisition and helped Lexmark move into the enterprise CMS space.
Learning Opportunities
Lexmark announced restructuring earlier this year, including layoffs and transfers, but Perceptive remained in hiring mode. Shawnee, Kan.-based Perceptive Software has about 1,247 employees worldwide, with about 700 of them located in Kansas. Earlier this year, Perceptive employees were treated to a surprise visit from Apple's Steve Wozniak, who arrived on a Segway.
Last month, Lexmark spent US$ 64 million on two new acquisitions. Australia-based ISYS Search Software focuses on enterprise search solutions, and Boston-based Nolij develops a Web-based data integration product. Lexmark also acquired Brainware in March. Brainware was recently listed on KMWorld's 100 Companies That Matter in Knowledge Management.
Overall, Perceptive has been enjoying nice growth lately, with a 41% revenue increase in Q4 of last year and about US$ 100 million in revenue for 2011. The company is off to a running start to 2012, so we expect to see more enterprise CMS product updates from them soon.
