Norway-based software vendor eZ Systems AS has appointed Dylan T. Williams as Vice President of the Americas.

CEO Gabriele Viebach said in a statement that Williams’ nearly 30 years of experience in direct sales and service management will help the company’s New York team “bring forward our goals of increasing our market share and broadening the presence of eZ Systems across the Americas, particularly North America.”

Williams’ Background

Williams’ has previously worked in sales and business development in several areas related to technology, finance and content management.

He spent 7 years as an analyst at industry research firm Gartner, where he developed market strategies around content, portal and collaborative initiatives involving a variety of technology solutions. In his most recent role, he managed and developed a content management system partner support framework at Rackspace Hosting.

eZ Systems said that Williams’ role will be working with Viebach and her team to “further establish the company” in the Americas.

Toward that goal, Williams told news media that he was “very excited” about long-term growth prospects for his new company, particularly given its “impressive growth” in the last few years and its “growing reputation as a versatile and reliable CMS platform.”

‘Complete Refactoring’

eZ Systems offers a leading commercial, open source web content management system for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) called eZ Publish.

Learning Opportunities

Williams pointed to the upcoming release of eZ Publish 5, aka Kilimanjaro, as one of the factors supporting the company’s long-term prospects. The company has said the new release will provide a “complete refactoring” of the platform, including an enhanced multichannels delivery and interoperability with common infrastructure.

Last month, eZ Systems announced that it would provide a special cloud-based version of its ez Publish CMS software for small and medium-sized business in Deutsche Telekom’s new, online Business Marketplace.

The eZ Community has over 40,000 members, including developers who participate in the open source eZ Publish roadmap and development. eZ Systems, which has provided web content management systems since 1999, provides vendor support of the product and a commercial version designed for businesses, called eZ Publish Enterprise.

In February of this year, eZ Systems released a Cloud Edition of eZ Publish, with the support of the Finnish cloud solutions provider Ixonos.
