SilverStripe Gives You the Chance to Design Its Default Theme
Sure, it’s Friday the 13th, but if you’re a designer, it might be your lucky day. Open source CMS provider SilverStripe and web agency Bluehouse Group have launched a contest to design the new default theme for SilverStripe CMS 3.0.

The Design Contest

SilverStripe will soon be releasing its next major version, SilverStripe 3.0, and it is embracing the spirit of open source completely. SilverStripe has partnered with Bluehouse to offer designers the opportunity to design the default theme for the release. Winning the contest yields bragging rights and exposes the winner’s mad design skills to the thousands of people who download SilverStripe each month.

The contest and voting is open to the public. Designers must create a fully functioning SilverStripe 3.0 theme based on the SilverStripe 3.0 alpha release and submit it via a Facebook application the company created to manage entries. The deadline for entries and voting is February 12.

Here Comes the Judge

A panel of judges, including our very own fearless leader Brice Dunwoodie, will select the winner from the five entries that receive the most public votes. Other judges include:

SilverStripe will announce the winner on February 20 and include the winning design in release candidate 1 of SilverStripe 3.0.
