New Salesforce Plugin Organizes Leads with WordPress
The only thing better than utilizing great platforms is utilizing great platforms that can communicate with each other. A new plugin from Salesforce (news, site) aims to provide exactly that by automating the lead creation process between its own CRM platform and WordPress.

Copy and paste is so yesterday. WordPress-to-lead allows you to kick manual entry to the curb by adding contacts and customers directly into the Salesforce CRM. Start by placing a sign-up form on any post or page and, well, that's it. Whatever information is entered in the form will then automatically be entered into Salesforce.

Salesforce put together a nifty video to explain the process:

It takes some tinkering around to get it installed, but it's not brain surgery. Like all WordPress plugins, after downloading them, you simply upload the files to your server, go into your WordPress set up and hit activate. You'll need your Organization ID as well (seen the video), and then you can get the party started.

Salesforce has been making quite a few moves lately, including the enhancement of Chatter and the Cloud 2 push. Their recent acquisition of Jigsaw is also notable, as it grants them access to technology that CEO Marc Benioff himself said will "make it as easy as Wikipedia to source data, as easy as iTunes to buy data and as easy as Facebook to stay updated as the data changes."

As what TechCrunch calls Salesforce's first "consumerprise"  play, the WordPress-to-Lead feature is a logical next step in making things easier with Web Engagement
