2012 CODiE Awards

The SIIA CODiE Awards have recognized more than 1,000 companies over the past 27 years. The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) -- formerly called the Software Publishers Association -- started the awards back in 1986 as the Excellence in Software Awards. According to SIIA, the CODiE Awards are the industry's only peer-reviewed awards program.

Finalists were announced in March and member voting ended in mid-April. Winners in the Business Software Industry were announced at the All About the Cloud event on May 10 in San Francisco.

And the Winners Are...

Tableau 6.1 won Best Business or Competitive Intelligence Solution. We gave Tableau Software a nod in our predictions for 2012 web content management because we appreciate the growing importance of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions as Big Data continues to be a big deal.

SpringCM took home the prize for Best Document Management Solution. In April, SpringCM released content management apps for iPad, iPhone and Android.

Learning Opportunities

Pervasive Software and Operative tied in the Best Integration Solution category. The Pervasive Data Integrator is configurable data integration software for design, deployment and management. Operative's Operative. One is an advertising Business Management platform.

Citrix GoToMeeting for iPad, iPhone and Android scored in the Best Mobile On-Demand Application category. Citrix was a finalist in the category last year, but Salesforce.com took home the 2011 award. Last month, we reported that Citrix acquiredPodio.
