Enterprise social media management technology provider HootSuite is adding a new round of productivity social apps to its app directory. The four new integrations, SocialBro, GoPollGo, NeedTagger and Videolicious, are designed to help HootSuite clients turn real-time social media messages into customer insights and marketing assets tied and customized to their businesses.

Apps Enable Twitter Targeting, Video Production

The new HootSuite social apps enable users to perform tasks such as better target Twitter messaging and create and streaming videos.

Following are brief synopses of each app.

  • Social Bro -- Using 10 filters, Social Bro provides advanced information about a company’s Twitter community. Users can track new followers and unfollowers, identify active and influential followers and tailor messages to specific market segments using the app’s filters for segmentation by factors such as audience location, language and time zone (see more about SocialBro).
  • GoPollGo -- This social polling app enables users to create polls, share them to their social networks and view real-time results directly from the HootSuite dashboard.
  • NeedTagger -- NeedTagger filters tweets from people reaching out publicly for products and services and creates a stream of business needs by selecting one of more than 50 pre-tested filters for different industries. NeedTagger filters identify tweets requesting specific products, services and content. Users can also tag tweets for follow-up.
  • Videolicious -- Users can stream, view and share polished videos directly from the dashboard to their social networks.

HootSuite Connects with the Big Boys

HootSuite clearly seeks to extend the value of its product offerings by connecting them directly to the “big boys” of social media and social business. In addition to the Twitter integration and tracking provided by SocialBro, in July, HootSuite started offering all users full access to Google+ Pages. As a result of this expanded integration, all paid and free HootSuite users can manage Google+ Pages alongside other social channels. All HootSuite users have access to Google+ Pages functionality in the HootSuite dashboard.

And two weeks ago, HootSuite refreshed its GetSatisfaction app to include integrations with Facebook and Twitter. Users now have the ability to push and pull content across both platforms from one dashboard. HootSuite also recently launched a collaboration with Yammer, allowing all Yammer users to monitor and reply to Yammer conversations within HootSuite.

Top Brands Use HootSuite for Twitter

According to a recent study by Swedish uptime monitoring service provider Pingdom, HootSuite is the most popular social media management system among the top 100 global brands as ranked by Interbrand. Of the 96 top 100 brands with official Twitter accounts, 20 used HootSuite. Sixteen use the second-most-popular social media management system, TweetDeck.

Furthermore, Pingdom only identified 68 top 100 brands that actually use a social media management system, meaning HootSuite has roughly 30% penetration among top brands using this type of system.

These integrations will be available immediately to HootSuite’s Free, Pro and Enterprise clients, who total close to five million users worldwide. There are currently 26 apps in the HootSuite app directory. HootSuite says it will add two to three new apps to the directory every month.
