The latest edition of IT Hit's Microsoft CMS (MCMS) Web Author Enhancements (WAE) has hit the pavement. The most charming feature of this release is the price tag. Its free. Yes, its light on features, but one can't complain too much. The Web Author Enhancement comes in two versions -- free and commercial -- and has several licensing schemes, including discounts for volume purchases and reduced pricing for non-profits and Microsoft partners. The commercial version of WAE v2.0 was released in late February. This release added some new features, improved usability with existing features, and importantly, tightened up the relationship and functionality for Telerik's MCMS Editor control. The free edition includes the following features:
  • Select Internal Link dialog
  • Copy Page dialog
  • Move Page dialog
  • Ready to use Pop-up Console
  • Kill Lock Console Action
  • Internal Link dialog integration with Telerik r.a.d. Editor
This version of the software may be downloaded for free.
